Couch Potato: I Hate Luv Storys

You know I’m not perfect. My name is not even perfect. I am stupid. But if you are with me, then my first and last love story will be perfect.

Lately I’m having this strange addiction with Bollywood movies. After watching the Hindi movie titled 3 Idiots starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, I ended up searching for more Bollywood movies – preferably under the romantic comedy genre. And then, while I was looking at the list of top grossing Bollywood movies, I came across this particular movie with a very intriguing title – I Hate Luv Storys. Well, bukod sa wrong spelling yung “Luv” at “Storys”, medyo na-puzzle lang ako sa title nung movie. I mean, who would hate love stories? Well maybe for a hopeless romantic like me it is impossible to hate love stories, but why hate love stories? And so I went on YouTube to watch the trailer of the film. Here it is:

At first I was like “What the f*** is this?” I mean, hindi ko man lang maintindihan kung anong pinagsasabi nila maliban lang sa mga kaunting english words. Pero catchy talaga yung trailer and I think the main characters are LOVELY! Kahit hindi ko siya gaanong naintindihan, the story looked very interesting. And so I downloaded the whole movie and all I can say is… this movie made me fall in love with Bollywood movies even more!

Meet J (played by Imran Khan). A happy-go-lucky playboy who does not believe in the magic of love and happy endings. According to him, in his film there are only one or two meetings and then… end titles. Which means, he does not believe in long term relationships.

But guess what, he works as an assistant director for Veer, an award-winning director who is popular for his “love story”-themed movies. How ironic right? Hahaha! Kaya naman kahit sukang-suka siya sa love story, he had no choice because it’s his bread and butter and because basically, his dream of becoming a director lies on his apprenticeship with Veer.

However, his views on life, love, and relationships started to change when he saw Simran (played by Sonam Kapoor).

J and Simran are basically the exact opposite of one another. If J hated love stories, Simran LOVED it. Actually, she considers her own lovelife as a perfect love story. She had a perfect family, a perfect career (as one of Bollywood’s art directors), and a perfect boyfriend (Raj). Everything is just perfect… until she met J.

So basically the lives of J and Simran turned into a hodge-podge as they constantly bumped into each other while working for a particular love story movie directed by Veer. Will they end up hating each other or will they eventually find in each other the true meaning of love? 🙂

Honestly, what really lured me to watch this movie is the physical appearance of the main characters, J and Simran. I mean, look at them. They are both eye-candies – they are just so perfect, hahaha!!! Bonus na lang sa akin ang napakagandang storyline plus the superkaduper catchy songs. My personal favorite is Jab Mila Tu. Here it is:

I highly recommed this 2010 film, “I Hate Luv Storys” and I tell you… after watching this film, you’ll never ever think of hating love stories. 🙂

My Handsome Rose, No Min-woo

No Min-woo as Park Dong Joo

Okay I’m currently into this guy named No Min-woo. He’s the guy who plays the role of Park Dong Joo in the currently airing drama My Girlfriend is a Gumiho / My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox (MGIG). Actually he’s one of the major reasons why I’m so in love with MGIG. You know I really have a thing for guys playing as “the-third-party” in every Korean dramas (and I don’t really know why). Just like in the case of Seo Jung Woo (Lee Jun Ki) of My Girl and Kang Shin Woo (Jung Yong Hwa) of You’re Beautiful, I’m really really in love MGIG’s Park Dong Joo (need I have to repeat myself? kekeke!)!!! My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox

I woke up very late today because I watched 3 episodes of this drama last night up to 3 in the morning, haha. What can I do? The storyline is super hilarious and awesome my attention is simply drawn into the drama making me completely oblivious of the time. Continue reading

Anata o Boku to Kekkonsuru no Kei ni Shosu. (I sentence you to marry me.)

I’m currently watching this Japanese series titled “Unubore Deka” which was recommended to me by my classmate y bestfriend Louise and so far, I’m loving it! After watching Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, I haven’t watched any Japanese series until this one. And I’m so glad I finally woke from my not-so-long JDrama hiatus. I’m now on the series’ Episode 3 and I must say, it is superkaduper hilarious to the max my roommates even thought I’m already out of my mind because I’m laughing like crazy all by myself. The Mannequin With A Heart

In order to regain full status as a real life person, the mannequin must find true love.

Yay! I just finished watching a movie. It’s called Mannequin starring Sex and the City‘s Kim Cattrall and Andrew McCarthy. It’s a feel good movie. I particularly like the storyline especially the ending. It’s a good movie to watch when you want to relax and enjoy your day! Right now I was planning to watch the second installment of this movie. Hope the second installment won’t fail me. Tehee! 😀

So here’s the plot summary of the film.

Jonathan Switcher (McCarthy) is a struggling artist who goes from one dead-end job to another. This all changes when he sees a mannequin (Cattrall) that he had created before. He finds work at the department store displaying her, and befriends a flamboyantly gay co-worker named Hollywood Montrose (Taylor) while still managing a girlfriend, Roxie Shield (Carole Davis). While having to dodge the store’s autocratic vice president (Spader), who is also working with Illustra, and his dimwitted security guard (Bailey), the mannequin comes to life. The mannequin, “Emmy”, was actually once Emahasure, a real-life woman from ancient Egypt. Her beauty, love and imagination inspire Switcher to become the best window dresser in town. Emmy and Jonathan have to fight through a lot, including the fact that she is alive only when just Jonathan can see her, which makes their relationship difficult.

However, when the other competing department store, Illustra, gets fewer and fewer customers because of the popularity of Jonathan’s display windows, everything starts to change. They first try to persuade him, through Roxie, to work there and when that does not work, the vice president and security guard decide that they must steal the mannequin from the store. They end up having to steal all the mannequins since they could not identify Emmy from the others. When Jonathan finds out she is gone, he must fight through security guards and machines to save her. When he finally saves her, they both find out that because of their true love anything is possible, including a real live Emmy and a happy ever after.

P.S. Included in the original soundtrack of this movie is Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now sung by Starship which was nominated in the Oscar. Pretty cool huh. 🙂
